Christmas Markets

Why do people complain about the prices at the Christmas Markets
Story today about a women letting her kids use the pick and mix stall and it cost £21.98 for a bag of sweets. She knew the sweets cost £2.99 per 100 grams which is about double from a toffee shop There must be plenty of fools who either have money to burn or the fools and their money is easily parted. With excessive prices at these markets its time people voted with their feet and stopped going to these markets and spend their money in the local shops They could then at least get some value for their money

Reminds me of many years ago, when Steve Jobs said he wanted to reposition 'Apple' to be more of a fashion item, and target the sector of people with more money than sense.

We all thought that he had done a Gerald (Ratner): that the remark would have negative consequences.

We were wrong.

He knew what he was doing.

Giving a commonplace item an air of exclusivity in just the same way as expensive perfume sales achieve. People think of themselves as smart because they can afford to buy an item for a price much higher than they really need to pay.

Nowt so queer as folk!

A Council mon, a white collar professional type of Council mon, a drip under pressure an (ex spurt) no doubt, told me when I asked him to go and stick the Pot Fair where the sun don't shine, or failing that put it in Market Place, as in {{{Market Place}}} you know where 'Markets' are 'Placed'

He said "oh we can't do that for Health and Safety reasons in case the emergency services need to attend in Market Place" if it was full of stalls they wouldn't be able to do that" to which I replied "there are only three stalls" but to no avail and with all the messing about, the Pot Fair stopped coming to Wigan

So errr 'Where do the Christmas Markets' now take place ?

Is it in Standishgate or is it Market Place ?

Or is it in both Market Place and Standishgate ?

But just remember folks, if there is an incident in Market Place and Standishgate when those Continental and Christmas fairs take place, then the emergency services will not be able to attend and yoo will all die

It's called Merry Credit Cardmas, mostly at this time of year. People use their pesky cards because if they see something and can't afford to pay for it there and then, it gets put on "tick" as we used to call it, or hire purchase, meaning they can't afford it.

This way they make people think they have wads of money to flash about, when they haven't, but their little darlings demand only the very best games, trainers, toys etc.

Then, I assume, they get monstrous bills to be paid for over the next 12 months or whatever, which they're totally "surprised" at, and then they have a good moan. I've never had a credit card, so I'm just guessing.

I'm not saying everybody is so cavalier with what they spend, but I watched a programme not long ago where an unmarried couple had a joint credit card and they were in debt to the tune of £47,000.
